Mole-Richardson Sputnik Studio Spotlight C-208
Mole-Richardson Sputnik film Spotlight
This very rare 1950s film light is a real head turner. We decided not to overly restore these lights as they are already beautifully designed. They have however been fully re-wire and fitted with a new lamp holder, height aligned to the reflector and lens. The original twist knob switch has been included in the new wiring. The light is unfortunately missing one of the four barndoors. All surface rust had been treated. Although the main body of the fixture is fibreglass so just the lens bezel needed attention. This has helped keep the light looking in great condition. There are a number of scruff and bumps we feel this added to their story. Note the reflector and lens are all chip and crack free. The focus mechanism despite efforts is seized in a forward position. The fixture is equally at home on a stand or sitting on it 'sputnik' style legs (see images). Note the lower rated lamp means the body no longer gets hot.
